EGR 121
This a first year course at Duke University that uses team-based projects to explore prototyping, product realization, and exploration of new skills and tools such as Solidworks and circuit design.

01
Machine Anatomy
Project Goal: Reverse engineer two clocks and create a product analysis including costs and product comparison. One clock was given to all project teams. The second clock was unique to one or two teams

02
Mousetrap Car
Project Goal: Create a quantum sand machine using only a mouse trap as the source of power and existing materials within the class lab. Scored on distance traveled, weight of car, and quality of memo.

03
Happy Meal Toy Design
Project Goal: Using the tools learned in the class, design and iterate a toy that can fit inside a happy meal, fits all safety requirements, is cost-effective, fun, and present the final product in a mock sales pitch.

04
Rube Goldberg Machine
Project Goal: The culminating project of the class, this project involves creating an individual machine with your team that must successfully interact with 4 other teams to form a larger Rube Goldberg Machine. Each group of five teams must come up with a theme and successfully have a ball of some type loop through the machine twice.
